About Helen & Gabbi

RISE-UP-COUNSELLING-LOGO-horizontal-1024x170.jpg

Helen Yack and Gabbi Silverberg are the co-founders of Rise Up Counselling, a private therapeutic practice specializing in supporting individuals and families navigating parenting time challenges, decision-making responsibilities, and the emotional impact of separation and divorce. Each brings over 25 years of experience in clinical social work and child welfare, including extensive careers at the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto.

Throughout their careers, Helen and Gabbi have worked with high-conflict families involved in child protection and family court. Both have facilitated training and mentorship for new professionals and are committed to trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and child-centred practices. Their lived experiences, Gabbi as a divorced parent and Helen as a child of high-conflict divorce, further deepen their understanding of the emotional complexity families face.

Through Rise Up Counselling, they provide a range of services, including individual therapy, co-parenting counselling, family therapy, voice of the child reports, and child welfare consultations. They are both trained in New Ways for Families. They are active members of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW), and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC). Helen is also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP) and is collaboratively trained.

Dedicated to walking alongside families with empathy, insight, and structure, Helen and Gabbi help clients reduce conflict, build resilience, and prioritize the well-being of children throughout every step of the separation journey.
